March 2021 – Following four weeks of disruption to the lives of those living in Ukraine, many businesses across the globe have leveraged their resources and influence to fundraise for organisations contributing to relief work in the region.
Smart Garden Products are immensely proud to join this effort by arranging and funding approximately 135 pallets of stock and donated provisions from the local community, to be sent to Ukraine. A herculean effort has been seen in the Eureka warehouse where Gary Ackers, Operations Director, and his team are managing the safe packing and delivery of vital supplies. They are working closely with Ukrainians in Peterborough who are coordinating charitable giving in the area.
“Like most people, we have been most concerned watching the terrible situation in Ukraine and the plight of so many refugees. Many of our workforce in Peterborough are from Eastern Europe which has given additional impetus for Smart to do what we can to help.
We have sent torches, batteries and lights as well as paying the transport cost of sending 5 trailers to go to Lviv in Ukraine via Warsaw. In addition, many of our team have collected and donated 4 pallets worth of food, toiletries and medical supplies to be sent out, while we have also contributed cartons and packaging materials to help pack a huge amount of other supplies that have been donated in the local area.”
